Everything you need to know

Is placenta encapsulation safe?

When prepared by a certified specialist in a properly sanitized, OSHA-compliant workspace using lab grade equipment, placenta encapsulation is considered safe by most practitioners. We follow rigorous protocols to ensure your capsules are processed with complete hygiene and care.

How does shipping work if I am not in Chicago?

We have made it simple. Your service includes a complete shipping kit with temperature-safe packaging, step-by-step instructions, and return labels sent to you before your due date. Once your placenta is safely packaged and shipped, we handle the rest and return your capsules within 72 hours.

How soon after birth should I start the process?

Ideally, your placenta should be fully frozen and shipped within 48 hours of birth to preserve freshness. We recommend booking during your second or third trimester so your shipping kit is on hand and we are ready when labor begins.

Why do you use commercial dehydrators?

Consumer dehydrators have inconsistent temperature ranges that can affect the final product. Our commercial dehydrators maintain precise, consistent heat throughout the process, resulting in a more uniform capsule and a more reliable postpartum experience for you.

Will the hospital release my placenta to me?

Most hospitals do allow you to take your placenta. We recommend notifying your care team of your intentions in your birth plan ahead of time. We are happy to provide a hospital letter upon request to make this as smooth as possible.

How many capsules will I receive?

The number varies depending on the size of your placenta, but most mothers receive between 80 and 200 capsules. At the standard dosage, this provides a supply of four to six weeks to support your early postpartum window.
